Sweetness. Looks like the idea that the world is almost out of oil is... wrong.
http://blogs.marketwatch.com/fundmaster ... postponed/
Sez here that between the US, Canada and South America, we may have more than 6 times the oil reserves as the Middle East and north Africa. If this article is correct, we could be energy independent by this time next decade. WOO WOOOOOOO!! Time to get up and make dat breakfast WOO WOOOO!!!

Holy cow. Congress is apparently allowed to legally trade on insider information.
Imagine being able to short sell a company, then pass a law that puts that company out of business. Or, buy a penny stock worth 35 bucks then pass a law giving it millions. I'd love to have a bug inside their stock broker's phone.

Our 2012 1 kg(2.2lb) 99.99% Year of the dragon.

And our mint has some 99.999% gold coins, the most pure gold boullion in the world.

The largest Canadian gold coin was 100kg(220lbs-3250 troy oz.)99.99% pure, 5 of these coins have been made. These are Guiness world record coins.
The Canadian mint made a promotional 100kg coin in 99.999% purity(10 parts per million are non-gold elements).

This one has a diamond.

I saw a cool stat, if you made a cube of ALL the gold that has ever been refined over the last 5500years since its discovery, it would measure 20 meters a side(65ft) 8000 cubic meters/liters (274,625 cubic feet or 2113 US liquid gallons). That cube would weigh(gold has a density of 19.3 grams per cubic centimeter 154,400,000 kgs(339,680,000 lbs) or 5,434,880,000 oz.
And would be worth
$9,782,784,000,000 or 9 trillion, 782 billion, 784 million dollars when $1800 per ounce is used.
All the gold so far refined in history, still couldnt pay some countries debts.

Yup, there is more debt in the world than the combined gross domestic product of all of the Countries in it! Extend and pretend. Kick the can down the road. What can we do? I was thinking that if I had the dough and gold dipped down to 1600 (say), one of those Kilo coins would cost a bit more than $514,400.00. And, it seems a cinch that we're not going to solve this debt crisis, so gold should fairly quickly return to 2000 (say). That's a decent profit of over $128,000.00 in what could well be less than one year from now, and on a single coin to boot!! To me, that doesn't really seem that risky, and if I had a couple million in cash, heck, I'd buy one. LOL, but then, if I had a couple million in cash, I probably wouldn't need to buy one!! I could end my days at the Solid Gold in Sudbury... lap danced to death.

I think I'd stay away from the Facebook IPO. There are too many people pissed about how they are forcing that timeline thing, they may be pulling a Netflix there.
