I have converted my 97 suburban from a 4l80E to a nv4500 6 years ago and the 5.7 to a 7.4. two weeks ago. When i rebuilt the transfer case last year, I found that the rear snap ring was broken which caused a broken shift rail and some other broken parts. I was able to use a np243c I had to replace some parts and the others I bought new. Well two weeks after my new found 454 power the transfer case is broken again. Does this vehicle use the 40 pulse VSS speed sensor? I see where it is possible to install that speed sensor in a NP205 case. It is also possible to change the 31 spline ford input to a gm 32 spline. I would have to use a cable shifter and use a switch for the front axle actuator. Also new driveshafts would be needed. I am considering this swap because of the np205's gear to gear strength and reliability. What I am missing?
